An Introduction to UI, With David Seah

Russian-American pianist Constantine Finehouse, praised for “interpretations of depth and maturity,” was born in St. Petersburg, raised in Boston and educated at New England Conservatory, Juilliard and Yale. As part of American Double, he released a 2CD album of William Bolcom’s complete violin and piano music on Albany Records in September 2007.   Finehouse is currently recording Bolcom’s solo piano music for Naxos Records. He has performed extensively in the US and abroad as a soloist and chamber musician.

Recent collaboration featuring Constantine Finehouse:

The Bolcom Project

This first-ever recording of the complete output for violin and piano by one of America’s most sought after and prolific composers, William Bolcom, is the latest project by American Double, Philip Ficsor, violin and Constantine Finehouse, piano. The 2CD set, to be released September, 2007 on Albany Records, features a number of world premiere recordings, such as Fancy Tales and Pastorale. The works on the album span almost four decades of Bolcom’s career, from his student days in the late fifties to mid-nineties. Also among the premieres is the Suite for Solo Violin, performed by Ficsor and revised by Bolcom especially for this recording project.
